Natural Park of Font Roja, Alcoy
Yes, Alicante has can be green! Within 30 minutes driving distance from the centre of Alicante, you will reach this beautiful protected natural park. The region, which includes 2.300 hectares of nature, occupied mainly by pine trees and similar species, has been protected since 1987. It is a perfect place for mountain biking, hiking or just enjoying some amazing views.

Abdet pools
Situated on the Mela Cliff, a number of natural pools fill up with water from the river from June to September. This place is off the beaten track and exactly the refreshing oasis you will be looking for on a hot summer day. Those of you who are looking for a real adventure can even practise canyoning. Guadalest castle
Guadalest is THE place to go when visiting Alicante. This small village is home to no more than 270 habitants and belongs to the region of Marina Baixa from where you can see the Mediterranean Sea in the far distance. Explore Guadalest’s bell tower and old ruins, surrounded by untouched nature and rolling hills. For good reason, this village is one of most visited places in Spain. Look at those views!!
Gallinera valley
The Gallinera Valley has a surface of 53 km2 and consists of 8 villages which are all popular for their rich cultivation of cherry trees. Every year in June, a cherry picking festival is celebrated by locals and visitors in this region. Cherries, almonds, olives and carob trees are characteristic of the unique landscape around Gallinera Valley. With walking trails connecting the individual villages, the area is also perfect for hiking and long walks.
Tibi
Tibi not only has beautiful views but also possesses one of the most ancient non-roman irrigation channels in all of Europe. At the end of the 1500s the channel was built with the aim to supply remote areas around Alicante with water. We highly recommend a visit to the local cheese factory or a horseback riding tour through the hills in the area.
